Albert Louis brought together Eastern and Western influence in music, back in the late 1970s. The initial shock and outrage at this audacious attempt at fusion resulted in an outcry that served as great carrion for the vultures to peck at.

Now, fusion music of this nature is well underway in a global scale. But Louis Albert is still the only percussionist in Singapore to play Chinese, Malay, Indian and Western instruments. His vision to bring together the sounds of the sitar, er-hu, drums, tabla, guitar and keyboards created awareness in this region of this special musical melange.

Louis Francis Albert's dabbling in cross-cultural inventiveness began in the 1970s. In 1974, he started using ethnic costumes in his performances and when he was stationed in Japan in 1978, he used ethnic instruments in his music.
